{"id":126,"date":"2007-06-20T14:46:32","date_gmt":"2007-06-20T22:46:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/infmom.net\/journal\/?p=126"},"modified":"2007-06-20T14:46:32","modified_gmt":"2007-06-20T22:46:32","slug":"onward-harry-potter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/infmom.net\/journal\/?p=126","title":{"rendered":"Onward, Harry Potter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <font size=\"+1\"><font face=\"Arial,Helvetica\"><em><strong>Warning:\u00c2\u00a0 Possible spoilers ahead, don&#8217;t read if you don&#8217;t want to speculate<\/strong><\/em><\/font><\/font><\/p>\n<p><font size=\"+1\"><font face=\"Arial,Helvetica\"><em><\/em><\/font><\/font><br \/>\nSo, as is my custom before a new Harry Potter book comes out, I&#8217;ve been re-reading the previous books, refreshing my memory.\u00c2\u00a0 I just finished <em>Half-Blood Prince<\/em> this morning and spotted a clue that was hiding in plain sight.\u00c2\u00a0 So I thought I&#8217;d make a record of other things I spotted, and wait and see if any of them will be significant in the last book.<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"cutid1\"><\/a><strong>Clues:<\/strong><br \/>\nWhen Dumbledore questions Harry after his battle with Voldemort in <em>Goblet of Fire<\/em> and Harry tells him about Voldemort&#8217;s using Harry&#8217;s blood to revive himself, &#8220;For a fleeting instant, Harry thought he saw a gleam of something like triumph in Dumbledore&#8217;s eyes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Sirius Black&#8217;s brother Regulus &#8220;was murdered by Voldemort. Or on Voldemort&#8217;s orders&#8221; according to Sirius in <em>Order of the Phoenix<\/em>.\u00c2\u00a0 Regulus had been a Death Eater and tried to get out.<\/p>\n<p>While cleaning out the glass-fronted cupboards in <em>Order of the Phoenix<\/em>, they find &#8220;a heavy locket that none of them could open.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The note that falls out of the fake Horcrux in <em>Half-Blood Prince<\/em> is signed with the initials &#8220;RAB.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Hagrid reports in <em>Half-Blood Prince<\/em> that he overheard Snape and Dumbledore having a bitter argument over something that Snape did not want to do and Dumbledore insists Snape has to do anyway.<\/p>\n<p>Just before Snape sends the <em>Avada Kedavra<\/em> curse at Dumbledore, Dumbledore is telling Draco Malfoy &#8220;He cannot kill you if you are already dead.\u00c2\u00a0 Come over to the other side, Draco, and we can hide you more completely than you can possibly imagine.\u00c2\u00a0 What is more, I can send members of the Order to your mother tonight to hide her likewise.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Snape screams &#8220;DON&#8217;T CALL ME COWARD&#8221; and &#8220;his face was suddenly demented, inhuman, as though he was in as much pain as the yelping, howling dog stuck in the burning house behind them.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a name=\"cutid2\"><\/a><strong>Oddities:<\/strong><br \/>\nIn <em>Goblet of Fire<\/em>, Dumbledore says that when a wand meets its brother, one will force the other to &#8220;regurgitate spells it has performed, in reverse.&#8221;\u00c2\u00a0 But Harry&#8217;s father emerges from the wand battle before his mother does.<\/p>\n<p>Why didn&#8217;t Madam Pomfrey (or Harry, or anyone else) ask Fawkes to shed tears on Bill Weasley&#8217;s face in <em>Half-Blood Prince<\/em>?<\/p>\n<p>What exactly was the archway that Sirius was thrown through by Bellatrix Lestrange in <em>Order of the Phoenix<\/em>?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Warning:\u00c2\u00a0 Possible spoilers ahead, don&#8217;t read if you don&#8217;t want to speculate So, as is my custom before a new Harry Potter book comes out, I&#8217;ve been re-reading the previous books, refreshing my memory.\u00c2\u00a0 I just finished Half-Blood Prince this &hellip; <a href=\"http:\/\/infmom.net\/journal\/?p=126\">Continue reading <span class=\"meta-nav\">&rarr;<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[8],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/infmom.net\/journal\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/126"}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/infmom.net\/journal\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/infmom.net\/journal\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/infmom.net\/journal\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/infmom.net\/journal\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=126"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"http:\/\/infmom.net\/journal\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/126\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/infmom.net\/journal\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=126"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/infmom.net\/journal\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=126"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/infmom.net\/journal\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=126"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
