My most recent eBay purchase was a first edition of a small volume of poetry that my grandmother published in 1925. \u00a0 The seller lives in the UK, so when I picked up the package at the post office today I didn’t think twice about the bright green stuff stuck on it. \u00a0 My brain registered it as “customs sticker” and went on about its business.<\/p>\n
It wasn’t till I went to actually open the envelope just now that I saw what the green stuff really is. \u00a0 It’s tape from Homeland Security. \u00a0 With an official seal on it and everything. \u00a0 They opened my package.<\/p>\n
Somewhere out there, my grandmother, who delighted in being subversive, is laughing her head off. \u00a0 And so am I.<\/p>\n
